Art show is Monday night

The Davis County High School Art Department will host its annual art show Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Students will have all types of art projects on display for public viewing. The artwork is a collection of pieces created throughout this school year.

Power point presentation for jail proposal posted online

The Davis County Jail Feasibility Committee is entering the final week before a bond referendum vote for a newly proposed Davis County Law Center. The committee along with Davis County Sheriff Dave Davis hosted one last public open house of the jail on Saturday and also hosted a public meeting at 5 p.m. to present information about how the committee came to the determination that a new facility was needed. Monday and Tuesday sports schedule: The Mustang golf team hosts Keokuk in a dual meet at 4 p.m. Monday. The boys travel to Centerville for the Centerville invitational at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Mustang track team travels to Van Buren for a meet at 5 p.m. Monday afternoon. The girls travel to Chariton Tuesday for the Chargerette Relays beginning at 5 p.m. The Mustang boys tennis team hosts Chariton at 4 p.m. Tuesday. The Mustang boys track team hosts the Mustang Relays at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Birchmier finishes third in Drake shot put

Kate Birchmier finished third in the shot put at the Drake Relays this past weekend. Birchmier had a toss of 43-1. She finished 19th in the discus with a toss of 116-1.
