School board discusses open positions

The Davis County School Board learned Monday night the district is working to replace eight staff vacancies before the 2014-2015 school year.

The board approved the transfer of Michelle Grove to the high school business department but learned that school officials were going to re-evaluate Grove’s middle school position before hiring someone to fill that position. Classroom skills such as keyboarding may be moved into the lower elementary grades since kids are using computers at a much younger age.

The board approved replacement materials for the elementary math curriculum, approved a food vendor agreement and voted to raise school lunch prices by 25 cents.
