Council votes for 3 lanes

The question of whether to convert Highway 63 along the east side of the square to three lanes from four lanes was settled by the City Council last night. Councilman Jack Woolard moved to approve the 3-lane plan with diagonal parking on the west side and parallel parking on the east side of Washington Street. Councilmen Earl Howard and Jeff Anderson also voted affirmatively. John Hilbert cast the only no vote. Councilman Jason Skaggs was absent from the meeting.
