School to host facilities open house Friday

The Davis County School District is hosting an open house Friday night to allow members of the public to get a closer look at athletic and music facilities that need to be updated.

The open house begins at 5 p.m. Friday night prior to the football game. The tour group will assemble on the west end of the track.

Those attending the open house will see antiquated locker room facilities, deteriorating gym, wrestling room and music room facilities along with a track that is in poor condition.

School officials ask that those wishing to take the tour be prompt because the locker room facilities will need to be accessed by football teams prior to the football game.

East Street intersection closed Friday

DPW Ted Henderson announced Friday that the East Street intersection will be closed Friday and will remain closed until the end of the project. This leaves no access for residents who live between East Street and Brown Street forcing them to park either one of those two streets.

The closing of the East Street intersection also cuts off full access to the high school parking lot, which means students will have to park in the pool parking and in other locations.

The group will be meeting weekly, but the first meeting will be an open meeting not only for those who want to address addiction problems, but for those who are in supporting roles as well.
