With the help of Bloomfield Main Street, Butch and Lois Priester of Bloomfield recently received a $75,000 challenge grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The grant will be used in the remodeling and rehabilitation of buildings the Priesters own on the west side of the Bloomfield square.
The Priesters are awaiting final approval of the drawings before work can get started on their project. The grants require matching funds from the Priesters toward their project completion.
The Bloomfield Police Department is looking for the public’s help in solving a hit and run accident, which took place last week.
Police say a delivery truck struck the office building housing the Davis County Veteran’s Affairs Department. The building received damage as portions of the brick were knocked off. A handicapped railing was also damaged.
Police have a piece of the trailer from the delivery truck that broke off and was left at the scene. They have no other major leads to help solve the accident.
Anyone who might have seen the accident is urged to contact the police department at 664-2700. Police say the accident happened some time between Wednesday night, Oct. 22 and Friday morning, Oct. 24
The Lady Mustang volleyball team returns to action Thursday night in the semi-final round of the Class 3A Region 8 tournament. Davis County will face Mediapolis at 7 p.m. Thursday night. The match will be played at Mediapolis.
