Storm causes damage Friday

A severe storm rolled through Davis County Friday afternoon causing problems for Bloomfield residents and also residents on the western side of Davis County. The entire city lost power for nearly an hour when an outage on supply lines from Northeast Missouri Power Cooperative went down. City officials turned on diesel generators for a while Friday afternoon until normal power could be restored. The severe storm also caused problems for Northeast Missouri Power in Davis County as transmission lines were downed in a storm northwest of Drakesville. Reports are that seven pole structures were damaged causing lines to go down. Storm damage could also be found at the home of Ireland and Marilyn McElderry and others northwest of Drakesville. The McElderrys lost several trees and experienced damage to a trailer that was flipped over onto other farm equipment during the storm.
