Grant not available, city changes plansThe Bloomfield City Council approved a change in plans to secure a USDA grant to help provide funding toward the hookup of the city’s water utility to Rathbun Regional Water Association.
Council members learned the USDA did not want to grant money to the city for the construction of a water line if ownership was going to be turned over to the Rathbun Regional Water Association. Rathbun officials agreed to take over building the line. Instead, the city will look at building a water tower near Lake Fisher as part of the project. The council approved the change contingent upon their formal approval to hook up to Rathbun Rural Water. As of Thursday night that formal approval still has not been given. * 0 Comments
