Police to purchase new investigative software

The Bloomfield Police Department recently secured a grant to purchase software, which will aid in extracting information off of cell phones during a police investigation. The software can break security codes on cell phones as well as extract call information, text messages,photos and more from phones. The software will help improve the speed and efficiency of police department investigations.

Supervisors to meet Monday

The Davis County Board of Supervisors will meet at 8:30 a.m. Monday morning. The board will meet with secondary roads at 9 a.m. The board will discuss a resolution to change the county mileage rate for prisoner transports. The board will act on resignations from Russell Lundstrum and Patty Proctor. They will review the county conservation annual report and discuss the handicap ramp, which was to be part of the streetscape project.

Troy Academy to be part of J-40 Farm Crawl Saturday

The Troy Academy will be among several stops on the J-40 Farm Crawl on Saturday. It will be open for guided tours from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday. The J-40 Farm crawl will also feature tours of various farms, wagon rides, glass blowing and demonstrations by local crafters and artists.

Bobby Speer

Bobby Dean Speer, 80, of Pulaski, died July 21, 2016. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, at Wagler Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Shipley officiating. Burial with graveside military rites performed by Reed-Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion will be at the IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday with the family present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Anderson to conduct football camp

The Davis County Middle School and High School football programs will host a free one-day football camp for grades 7-12. The camp will be held on Wednesday, July 27 from 5:30-8 p.m. The camp will be held at the high school football field. Former Bloomfield resident Kent Anderson and his Waldorf College Football Coaching Staff will conduct the one-day camp.
