I CARE concerned about finances

Anne Morgan, director of the “I Care” project, is concerned about finances as the project begins this year.

Expenditures last year more than tripled leaving very little money in the coffers to purchase gifts this year.

The project is in need of monetary donations, which may be sent to Morgan at 301 Duffield St., Bloomfield.

Also, the Angel Tree has been placed at Keith’s Foods and those who wish to shop for children may select a sheet of instructions from the tree. Those who wish to sponsor families should contact Morgan at 641-208-1017.

Council continues discussions about solar power policy

The Bloomfield City Council got into a heated discussion Thursday night about an interconnection ordinance.

Council members are looking at the ordinance to determine the best course of action since a local business has applied for a building permit to build a solar field in the city limits.

Council members are at odds as to how the city should structure the ordinance to both promote the use of solar as well as maintain the city’s electric system.

Hospital board looking to replace Weilbrenner

The Davis County Hospital Board is in need of a new board member even after the November General Election.

Board member Tami Weilbrenner issued a letter of resignation from her seat on the board, which was accepted at last week’s meeting. Weilbrenner resigned her position effective at the end of October. She is leaving the board because she is moving out of the county and can no longer serve as a board member.

Board chairman Tom Prosapio announced that the board would be searching for a replacement.

Anne Morgan and Janis Wetterich are both leaving the board at the end of December when their terms expire. Jo Altheide and Kelly Pottorff were elected to fill those positions.
