Davis County High School speech contestants came home from District Speech Contest with six I ratings Saturday.
Andreas Sanchez earned a I rating for Solo Mime.
Gavin Klaus, Dagon Walker, and Jaxon Bolin received a I rating in the Short Film category.
Klaus, Walker, and Bolin also received a I rating for their Group Improvisation.
Jace Cheney, Mary Luffy, and Alexia Shively received a I rating in Group Improvisation.
Sisters Alyssa and Leah Rudd earned a I rating in Musical Theatre.
The One-Act Play received a I rating with Matthew Garmon, Ally Garmon, Jocelynn Froah, Jesseca Froah, Julia Hill, Chloe Fetcho, and Leah Rudd in the cast.
Veronica Yoder and Emerson Glosser were given a II rating in Musical Theatre.
Wendy Davis, Owen Klaus, Alex Sanborn, and Aries Derby received a II rating in Group Improvisation.
A Reader’s Theatre group of Matthew Garmon, Ally Garmon, Julia Hill, Brandon Thordarson, Nicole Derby, and Jocelynn Froah received a II rating.
“Everyone did a terrific job today and represented DCHS very well!” said sponsor Joy Orwig. “We had lots of family support in attendance.”
Those receiving I ratings will participate in State Speech Contest on Feb. 4 in Cedar Rapids.
