Courtney Jackson joined the Bloomfield Democrat as a staff assistant last week.

Jackson will be performing a wide variety of tasks including receptionist, subscription records, and some reporting and photography duties.

Jackson graduated Davis County Community High School in 2019. While in high school she was active in band, yearbook and photography club.

Jackson is currently attending Indian Hills Community College for her Associate of Arts degree and will graduate in May 2021.

After Indian Hills, Jackson hopes to transfer to Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., to major in journalism. She is hoping the job at the Democrat will give her a head start on her career in journalism and give her some experience in the field.

While working at the Democrat, Jackson is simultaneously taking 15 credit hours at IHCC.

Before taking the job with the Democrat, she worked at Wigwam Daycare.
