Snowy streets contributed to an accident resulting in minor damages at 10:49 a.m. Dec. 31 when Mackenzie Breeding was traveling east on Goode Street in Bloomfield and Rick Thompson backed out of his driveway while clearing snow.

Thompson backed into the roadway while clearing his driveway with a snowblade attached to the front of his Chevy Silverado pickup. His vision was obscured by the blind spot and he did not see Breeding approaching from the west in her Hyundai Azera.

Though Breeding attempted to avoid the collision, she was unable to do so due to the snow-covered road.

The accident resulted to $1,300 in damages to Breeding’s Hyundai and $1,600 in damages to Thompson’s pickup.

Officer Zach Dunlavy investigated the accident.
