Davis County’s Walk for Life will look different this year as individuals participate in the annual event to raise funds for mammograms for individuals who are under-insured or uninsured in Davis County.
Instead of gathering in Mustang Stadium for a one-mile walk as usual, participants will engage in a Virtual Walk due to the pandemic, the Walk for Life Committee announced.
“We encourage you to participate virtually this year by registering, receiving your shirt, and then participating by taking your own walk on Sept. 26,” said Susan Haskell, Davis County Walk for Life Chair.
“Show your support by posting a picture of you and your family taking your walk in 2020 WFL shirts on Sept. 26. Don’t forget to tag #DCWalk4Life!” she added.
Registration for the event is $25 and youth registration is $15. Both registration categories include a t-shirt. To register, visit http://getmeregistered.com/DCwalkforlife.
This year’s breast cancer survivor honoree is Julie Rudd, a breast cancer survivor since 2018.
Davis County Walk for Life was created in memory of Debbie Mincks-Lindeen, a brave and caring lady who lost her fight against breast cancer in 1989.
The DC Walk for Life business sponsors for 2020 include Cobblestone Inn & Suites, Success Bank, Kollision Korner, Davis County Realtors, Wells Hometown Drug, Spilman Auto Parts, Inc., Van Mersbergen Insurance, Inc., Brothers Market, Kincart Physical Therapy Services, Clearview Animal Hospital, Parkside Animal Hospital, Neebz Graphix, Bloomfield Care Center & Mulberry Place, Davis County Hospital & Clinics, and SIEC Community Support Fund.
