Wood fire

A Bloomfield firefighter works to extinguish a fire in a woodpile last week.

The Bloomfield Fire Department dispatched a pumper and a water tanker to a property east of Bloomfield on J40 last week when a sizeable woodpile near an outdoor wood boiler caught fire.

Firefighter Adam Bridgman said firemen were able to knock down the flames and use a skid loader to haul the burning chunks of wood to a beanfield where they were left to extinguish on their own.
