Bo Mikel Johnson, loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, died unexpectedly on November 13, 2019 at his home in Bloomfield.
He was born on August 17, 1989 in Ottumwa to P. Dennis and Tonya Kaye Crawford Johnson. On May 14, 2011, he married Kaylee Hougland. Although they later divorced, they remained a strong parental team for their three sons: Callen, Cohen, and Caisyn.
He was employed by Hillphoenix in Centerville for the last ten years. Bo had a fascination with all types of guns and knives, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings. His true passion was doing anything for his boys he loved so much.
He is survived by his three sons, Callen Mikel Johnson, Cohen Lee Johnson, Caisyn Jax Johnson, all of Bloomfield; mother, Tonya (John) Wilt of Pulaski; father, Dennis (Kim Millard) Johnson of Birmingham; sister, Tasheina (Brandon) Dale of Arbela, Mo.; nephews, Weston Dale, Brexton Dale both of Arbela, Mo.; grandparents, Larry and Zelma Rodgers of Rolla, Mo., Tom Crawford of Ariz., Jeanine and Jim Dyhouse of Kirksville, Mo.; friend and mother of his children, Kaylee Johnson of Bloomfield, and her parents, Dallas (Melinda) Garmon of Bloomfield, Steve Hougland of Bloomfield, her siblings, Josey (Rene) Garmon of Bloomfield, Wyatt (Emmie) Garmon of Pella; step brothers and sisters; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Fred Johnson; great-grandparents, Henry and June Allen, Paul and Delois McCune, and Lee and Francis Johnson.
Memorial services were at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 25, at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Matt Froah officiating. Burial of the cremated remains followed at the Pulaski Cemetery. Visitation with family present to greet friends was from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
Family requested that guests come dressed “Bo Casual.”
A memorial has been established for his children’s college fund or to the donor’s choice.
