Bruce David Graves

Bruce David Graves, 64, of Des Moines, and formerly of Bloomfield, passed away on Dec. 30, 2020 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born July 8, 1956 in Centerville to Jacob David “J.D.” and Alta L. Stogdill Graves.

Bruce had many interests if life including motorcycles, tractors, working with his tools, and doing puzzles. When he was younger, he loved being on the family farm and riding on the tractor with his father. A trip to the farm was a must when in the Bloomfield area. He will be remembered for his kind nature, big smile, and big hugs.

He is survived by his sister, Lana (Roger) Minnick of Bloomfield; three nieces, Susan (Scott) Dudley of Eddyville, Kari (Jerome) Waterbeck of Cresco, and Melissa Minnick of Ottumwa; two great-nieces; five great-nephews; two great-great-nieces; two great-great-nephews; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and great-niece, Makenzie Waterbeck.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Phil Griffith officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitation was on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. A memorial, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Mosaic Group Home in Des Moines.
