Edward R. “Ed” Anderson, 76, passed away at home on Friday morning, March 26, 2021 with his wife and daughter by his side.

Edward had a long and distinguished career as a police officer, retiring as Chief. He served in several towns in Iowa, including Bloomfield, during his many years of service.

He is survived by his wife Marcia in Urbandale; daughter Kerry (Kevin) Connolly of Johnston; a son Ross (Kim) of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Candice Connolly, and his twin sister, Eleanor Franks of Council Bluffs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernice (Boucher) Anderson; a brother, Billy, who was killed in action during WW II; and two sisters, Donnabelle and Deloris.

A graveside service will be held at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Council Bluffs on Saturday, April 10, at 11 a.m. Memorials may be directed to your local police department or first responders of your choice.
