Ella Jane Swaim, 92, of Bloomfield, passed away on Oct. 9, 2020 at the Bloomfield Care Center.

She was born July 4, 1928 in Floris to William Lee and Cecil Avis Stogdill Farris. She married Floyd Swaim on July 13, 1946. The coupled lived on a farm for many years and raised two sons, Curtis and Dennis. Floyd passed away on December 10, 2017.

Jane worked as a township clerk and then as a certified nurse aide at the Davis County Hospital. She was also instrumental in life around the farm where she raised sheep and helped with the chores. Jane was an avid quilter and made many different quilts for her family over the years. She also quilted in Mission Circle and enjoyed getting together with the other ladies in the group. Jane will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Curtis Joe (Patricia) Swaim, Dennis Lloyd (Penny) Swaim; five grandchildren, Heather (Bill) Morehouse, Aaron (Dianna) Swaim, Tabitha (Adam) Steinbock, Andrew (Katie) Swaim, William Swaim; four great-grandchildren, Gretchen and Ingrid Steinbock, Audrey Swaim, Reed Swaim; sister, Janet Sue Richmond of Allerton; and brother, Ron (Rose) Farris of Las Vegas, Nev.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Darrell Farris, infant Keith Farris; and two sisters, Helen Rupe, Betty Downing.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Adam Steinbock and the Rev. Aaron L. Swaim officiating. Burial will be at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Davis County.

Open visitation will be from 9  a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.

A memorial has been established to the Ronald McDonald House and may be mailed to 1441 Pleasant St., Des Moines, Iowa 50314.
