Jackie Dale Kirby, 86, of Bloomfield, passed away Friday Sept. 3 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.

Jack was born November 19, 1934 at his family’s farm near Moulton to Erca Wilbur and Bessie Vergie (Adams) Kirby.

He graduated in 1953 from Moulton High School.

On June 5, 1955, Jack was united in marriage to Hanna Lavera Wilkinson at the Bloomfield Christian Church. To this union came two children: Randy Dale and Glenda Kay.

Jack was a farmer and an all-over-the-United States Truck driver for many years. After retirement he volunteered for the Davis County Historical Society.

Survivors include his wife Hanna; children Randy (Crystal) Kirby and Glenda (Larry) Long; grandchildren Heather (Tyler) Baze, Michael Swarts, and Hallie (Dillion Morgan) Kirby; great-grandchildren Kennedy Smothers, Asher Baze, Brayden Hopkins, Marissa Kirby, Jayden Hayes, and Corbyn Morgan; sister JoAnn Replogle; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Leon (Judy) Wilkinson, Loren (Terri Cantu) Wilkinson, Hildred Gordy, Ladonna Piper, Lavenia (Marion) Davis, and Lucinda (Ron) Knock, and Karen Kirby, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Reva Wilkinson; granddaughter Holly Swarts; two brothers, Bert (Enid) Kirby and Don Kirby, three sisters, Wilma (Robert) Brinegar, Betty (Johnny) Keep, and Bonnie (Charles) Davis; sister-in-law Laverda Rupe; brothers-in-law Royce Gordy and Barney Piper; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7 from 1-7 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Moulton with family present from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral services for Jack will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home in Moulton on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be at Sunset View Cemetery in Moulton following the service. Memorials may be left to the family and placement of funds will be determined at a later date.
