Jesse Lee Shively, 37 of rural Lancaster, Mo. passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo. He lived most of his life in Schuyler County, Mo. He passed with his loving wife, children and mother by his side.

The son of Ricky Dale Shively and Maria Elena (Angel) Tuttle, he was born on Feb. 25, 1984 in Columbia, Mo. He was a 2002 graduate of the Schuyler R-I School.

On Sept. 10, 2019, he was united in marriage to Denise Renee Roberts in Kirksville, Mo.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Denise Shively of rural Lancaster; children, Desire’ Farmer of Downing, Mo., Darius Schultz and husband, Chaz of Lancaster, Mo., and Demitria Farmer of Queen City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Annastasia Farmer and Amelia Robeson, Lattie and Kalvin Schultz, both of Lancaster, Mo.; his father, Ricky Shively of rural Glenwood, Mo.; his mother, Elena Tuttle and husband, Leon of Kirksville, Mo.; two brothers, Justin Shively and wife, Amanda of Glenwood, Mo., and Joshua Shively and wife, Jessica of Saxton, Pa.; one sister, Amy Gott of Columbia, Mo; grandparents, Beverly Shively of Downing, Mo., Enieda Pleasant and husband, David, and Arnulfo Angel, both of San Antonio, Texas; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, cousins, other family members and many good friends.

Jesse is preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence Dale Shively on Sept. 9, 2009, and a step-grandmother, Zenona Angel.

Jesse was employed with Chevron Performance Pipe of Bloomfield as a lead technician. He had been employed with this company for over six years.

He loved spending time with his wife and children. Jesse loved and adored his grandchildren but his favorite part was spoiling them rotten, sharing his passions with them and teaching them how to be ornery. He loved watching his children play sports when they were younger and any other events they had going on. He enjoyed being outside, hunting, riding his motorcycle, going to the movies and always staying busy. Jesse’s hobby was gun collecting. He enjoyed spending time at TNT gun shop, hanging out with family and having a beer or cooking brisket with his good neighbor, Steve.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Mo. with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith, officiating. Music selections will be “Calling All Angels” and “My Immortal.” Pallbearers will be Justin Shively, Joshua Shively, Chaz Schultz, Jesse Gray, Steve Silvers and Tom Gasperi.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the grandchildren’s educational fund. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home.
