Girls track at PCM

The Lady Mustang track team opened the 2021 track season in impressive fashion on March 30 as they won the PCM Girls Track Classic. Davis County scored 184 team points, dominating the field of teams finishing 83 points ahead of PCM.

Davis County’s domination came in the fact that they won nine different events and finished second or third in countless others throughout the duration of the meet.

Charley Barnhart helped secure the team win by scoring victories in both the 400 and 1500 meters. Barnhart won the 400 meters with a time of 1:09.32. Davis County dominated that race as Kallie Greiner finished second with a time of 1:09.35. Clara Smith finished third with a time of 1:11.17.

Barnhart won the 1500 meters with a time of 5:46.84. Tatum Turner and Makayla Backman also ran the 1500 meters. Turner finished third with a time of 5:49.78. Bachman finished fifth with a time of 6:15.23.

Davis County dominated several of the relay events winning four of those in the meet. Davis County’s 4x100-meter relay team won that race with a time of 55.72. The 4x200-meter relay team won that race with a time of 1:58. Davis County also finished the night with a victory in the 4x400-meter relay. They paced the field of runners with a time of 4:37.77. Davis County also won the distance medley relay with a time of 4:51.

Bachman won the 3000 meters with a time of 12:50. Karston Nebel was second overall with a time of 13:34.

Davis County finished second in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 11:28. That race turned into a photo-finish as PCM edged out the Lady Mustangs at the finish line. PCM won the race with a time of 11:27. Davis County was fourth in the sprint medley relay with a time of 2:19. The girls finished third in the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:33.

Davis County finished first and second in the 100 meters. Jersey Greever won the race with a time of 14.21. Mayci White finished second with a time of 14.56. Cadan VanLaningham won the 200 meters. She clocked a time of 28.79 in her victory. Chloe Fetcho finished second behind VanLaningham with a time of 31.46. Ella Huggins finished fourth with a time of 32.53.

Addison Stuchel won the 800 meters with a time of 2:54.04. Turner finished third with a time of 3:01.93 and Karston Nebel finished fourth with a time of 3:08.10.

Stephyn Wilfawn was fourth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.78. She finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:23.57. Greiner finished third in the same race with a time of 1:26.54. Kaitlyn Olinger was fourth with a time of 1:29.60.

Greiner won the long jump with an excellent jump to start the season. She cleared 15-2 in her first competition of 2021. Sydney Utt finished fifth with a jump of 14-0 ½.

Briley Lough finished in a tie for third place in the high jump. She and Claire Wilson of PCM cleared 4-6 during the meet.

Chelsea Prevo finished third in the shot put with a toss of 31-5. Hill finished fifth with a toss of 27-6. Hill finished third overall in the discus with a toss of 89-2. Prevo finished fourth with a toss of 87.
