Kelsey Rook finished 10th overall in the Class 1A District Bowling tournament that was held in Muscatine on Feb. 16. Rook led the Lady Mustangs to a fourth-place team finish in the tournament.

Davis County rolled a 1,900 team score in the tournament that was won by Louisa-Muscatine on their home lanes. Louisa-Muscatine won the tournament with a team score of 2,994.

Rook’s efforts were good enough to finish with a 343 series. She started out the tournament with a 158 and found ways to improve her performance in game two. Rook finished the tournament with a 185 in the second game of the individual competition.

Kodi Person finished the 2020-21 season with a 299 series in her final games. She rolled a 152 in the opening game and followed that with a 147. Hallie Pearson rolled a 231. She finished with game scores of 119 and 112.

Aubrey Bachman finished the season with a 220 series. She rolled games of 115 and 105. Skye Miller rolled a 180 with games of 98 and 82. Olivia Doxtator finished with a 178 after rolling games of 98 and 80.

Davis County started the Baker game competition with a 120. The girls put together a strong performance in game two with a 156 but then dropped back down to a 121 in game three. They finished the Baker game series with scores of 112 and 118.

The Lady Mustangs competed well in a very tough district meet. Louisa-Muscatine is a tough team to beat in any house, let alone their own house. Their individual games, as a team, weren’t their best of the season, but they finished strong with a great Baker set,” said Coach Jason Rook.

“Kelsey ended up 10th-place overall in the district. This is only our third year competing. We are showing great team chemistry. We want to wish the best to our seniors who will be moving on to college. We are looking forward to the future of Lady Mustang Bowling,” said Rook.
